Charlie Walk is an experienced, very popular American music executive who has worked as a president of Republic Music Group. He also has served as the president of Epic Records for the years between 2005 and 2008. Born on July 22 1968, Charlie Walk always used to take a lot of interest in music from his childhood. He used to listen to a radio station called WRKO on his old transistor radio. It was how he started an interest in music.
Charlie Walk Early Career
Walk started his professional career in 1987 as a college marketing agent for Sony Music Distributions while he was taking his classes at Boston University’s School of Management. In 1990, he received a graduation degree in Business Administration.
Charlie Walk’s first job at Columbia Records was to work with a boy band named ‘’the New Kids on the Block,’’ helping them get into the mainstream. While working at Columbia, he worked with a number of prestigious artists, including Will Smith, Beyoncé Knowles, Destiny’s Child, John Legend, Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Maxwell, Bruce Springsteen, The Fugees, Aerosmith, John Mayer, and Wyclef Jean. He was promoted from the designation of senior vice president to executive vice priced in 2000. Subsequently, he was further promoted to the post of executive vice president of promotion and creative marketing for devising strategies in nontraditional marketing areas.
Charlie Walk Personal Life
Walk tied knot with Lauren Miller in 1997, with whom he has four children named; Jesse (2000), Jagger (2001), Jade (2005), and Jewel Summer (2007). Apart from spending most of his time thinking about music, he also supports several philanthropic causes, with the most important being The Charlie Walk Foundation for the Arts.
